MOBOs 30th Anniversary (Now Building) – from 8th October
Kanya King CBE who sadly died earlier this year quite simply transformed the cultural and musical landscape when she founded the MOBO Awards in 1996. Countless artists were championed by Kanya and the MOBOs - Stormzy, Little Simz, Dave, Raye, Craig David, MsDynamite, Dizzee Rascal, Amy Winehouse, Central Cee and many others.
Celebrating her life and work and the 30th anniversary of MOBO the Outernet screens will show a specially made installation taking the audience through Kanya’s journey from the very first MOBO Awards, her ambition and drive to create a platform for Black music that hadn’t existed before and the incredible and enduring legacy she has left.
