Celebrate Pride 2025 at Outernet

To celebrate the start of Pride, we’ve transformed Outernet with rainbow colours, engaging experiences and thought-provoking partnerships. We have Hate Hurts All of Us, the return of Loved & Wanted in Now Trending, Emoji Shower: Pride Edition in The Now Building and the gorgeous Paint the Outernet Rainbow - a digital rainbow standing with the LGBTQIA+ community. 🌈💕

Hate Hurts All of Us – It Takes All of Us to Stop It!

Throughout Pride month Hate Hurts All of Us reveals how rising levels of anti-LGBT+ hate are detrimental to us all, but can be stopped when we come together.

Developed by the UK’s LGBT+ anti-abuse charity, Galop, and London-based animation studio Chicken Fruit, the emotive campaign features cute, colourful round characters, called Squidgies, who become vulnerable to being infected with hate, as it spreads across the immense Outernet screens through spikey, angry characters.

But fear not, hate doesn’t get to win at Outernet - audiences will be able to watch the Squidgies refill the space with colour, light and hope. The animation will be free to watch at Outernet throughout Pride month.

Galop and Chicken Fruit created the animation in response to rising levels of anti-LGBT+ hate, with hate growing in digital spaces and on the streets. In the past decade, the UK has plummeted down the ILGA Rainbow Europe Index for ‘safe’ countries for LGBT+ people, from 1st place with 86% in 2015, to 22nd place with our lowest-ever score of 46% in 2025.

Between 2023 and 2024, Galop saw a 100% increase in LGBT+ people accessing help for hate crime. Rising levels of anti-LGBT+ hate are impacting the safety of LGBT+ people in their everyday lives.

Celebrating our city's enduring spirit of respect, unity and togetherness, this project is part of the Mayor of London's work to strengthen connections between London's communities, and includes new funding for councils and community organisations across the city.
