Moto GP Comes to Outernet
The build-up to the British Grand Prix is always a significant moment in the MotoGP calendar. This year, that anticipation came to life in the heart of London, as Outernet hosted the official pre-event press conference ahead of race weekend.
On 6 August, the Now Building welcomed some of MotoGP’s biggest names such as Marco Bezzecchi, Pedro Acosta, Cal Crutchlow, Ai Ogura and Diogo Moreira, alongside a special ceremony inducting British racing legend Barry Sheene into the MotoGP Hall of Fame.
But the event was about more than putting riders in front of the press.

Bringing different audiences into the same moment
The Now Building was divided into dedicated spaces for media, fans and influencers, creating an environment where different audiences could experience the build-up to the British Grand Prix in their own way.
For the media, the event provided access to the riders and the opportunity to conduct one-to-one interviews following the press conference. For fans and influencers, it created a chance to be closer to the action and experience the atmosphere surrounding one of the biggest weekends in the British motorsport calendar.
The press conference was captured and broadcast live by TNT Sports, extending the event beyond those physically present at Outernet. Meanwhile, a live picture-in-picture feed was shown on Now Trending, allowing fans who couldn't access the press event to follow the action from outside.
This created an interesting shift in how a traditional press moment could work: rather than being something experienced exclusively by journalists, the event became content in its own right, with multiple audiences able to engage with it simultaneously.
From press moment to public experience
Once the media interviews were complete, the space was transformed ahead of opening the Now Building to the public at 3pm.
Audiences could then experience MotoGP displays and immersive content for themselves, extending the story beyond the press conference and giving the wider public an opportunity to engage with the world of MotoGP.

For brands and rights holders, this is where the opportunity becomes particularly interesting.
Major sporting moments increasingly exist across multiple touchpoints, from live events and broadcast to social content, creator culture and physical experiences. Bringing these together in a single location can turn a moment of media activity into something that audiences can actually see, experience and participate in.
Creating a bigger moment around sport
MotoGP’s visit to Outernet demonstrated the potential of using immersive environments to amplify major sporting occasions.
The Now Building provided a platform that could serve very different purposes across the day: a venue for a high-profile press conference, a broadcast backdrop, a space for fans and influencers, and ultimately a public-facing immersive experience.
That flexibility is increasingly important as the boundaries between media, entertainment and live experience continue to converge.
For MotoGP, the result was a London-based activation that helped build anticipation for the British Grand Prix while bringing the sport directly into the path of audiences, turning the countdown to race day into an experience in its own right.
